Celebrating Us. Journals Matter.

This is our journaling thread. In addition to chatting with each other, keep a private journal this month. We all know that tracking our nutrition and fitness leads to better weight loss results. Keeping a weight-loss journal can help with weight loss by increasing awareness of what you eat and why, and it can help you stay on track with your goals.

Keeping a personal journal and/or trackers produce better weight loss results.
Keeping a personal journal and/or trackers produce better weight loss results.

There's no right or wrong way to journal for weight loss, but you can try these tips:

  • Write down everything you eat and drink: Record what you eat and drink as soon as you consume it, including small amounts and leftovers. Take a picture of your plate if it is easier. Be aware of your nutritional goals. Follow your meal plans.

  • Track your activity: You can include a log of your exercises in your journal.

  • Set goals: You can use your journal to set goals for your weight loss.

  • Plan your meals: You can use your journal to plan your meals.

  • Be consistent: Use your journal consistently to get the most benefit.

Keeping a written record of your weight loss story can be powerful, whether you make it public by posting items here or keep it private in a journal. Take pictures or use online trackers if they help you track what you are eating. Logging your workouts can keep your motivation going on tougher days. Keeping track of the amount of water you are drinking can ensure that you are getting enough servings in each day.

Nothing really new, but my back is feeling better. Last night was a bad night's sleep again, but it feels better today...just a little stiff.

I decorated for Valentine's Day today...we have a couple of birthdays we're celebrating at our house on Valentine's Day (Ashley's and Belinda's).

Other than that, same ole same ole! Weekend with Belinda and Mom! Enjoy your weekend too!

We have not had the bitter cold like most of the Midwest. It did get into the teens for a couple days, but our snow was minimal. Think maybe 2" total and it is all gone. Been in the high 40s and up to 51 today. There has been a shift in the administrator position at the Moose Lodge, so I have been working down there most days after I finish up in my own office. A new administrator starts next Tuesday. Played Music Bingo last night which was so much fun. Tonight, going to a birthday party for a dear friend. We have talked about going to Laramie to see Clayton on Saturday. They have been building n…

It's Friday!! After yesterday, there is no where to go but up. Another busy day before a very busy weekend.

Sammy survived surgery. Poor guy was so unsteady last night and a very angry mouth. Gave him is pain meds. He is moving better this morning and was able to eat a little. Of course he is avoiding me now. Poor guy is going to really hate me when I start doing his ear drops again.

Furnace is fine. It reset itself. Tech checked everything over, but it seems to be working fine now.

Have my nail appt today over lunch hour then having to do a couple of returns to Amazon after work, so grabbing dinner out before coming…

Okay weather permitting I am going to go to the shower. Kasie is going to go with me so I dont have to drive by myself. Not that I wouldn't go if she didn't but company is always good!

Doug had 2 teeth pulled yesterday. For some reason he didn't pull the trigger on getting them all pulled and getting dentures.. probably the 10-20000 price tag on it turned him away. We shall see what happens Later.

Not much else going on here. Fingers crossed for all our weigh ins.

I woke up Wednesday with back pain and watched the kiddos, but the pain got worse in the evening. I took my Tylenol Arthritis, put on Icy Hot and used a heating pad all night. Still was killing me while trying to sleep and when I got up this morning. I just took more meds and couch surfed most of the day. It's feeling better, but I'm still stiff and slow moving. I did manage to move around a bit...got upstairs to dress and paid a few bills. That's it for me! Hoping for a better night's sleep tonight.

Good luck to everyone on weigh in!
